It could be a GREAT day on Wednesday....

My two selections are at York. The first is in the 1.30, Sir Michael's Great Hawk. This one has to carry top-weight but I reckon there is plenty more to come and he is on the verge of group class. My Second choice is Aidan O'Brien's Great Barrier Reef in the 2.00. The fact that Ballydoyle debut this one in a group race suggests it is high up the pecking order in the juvenile department. Danny's first choice is Scriptwriter in the 2.35. A very impressive winner last time and the ground should now be in his favour. In the 4.25 he goes for the well bred Godolphin newcomer Iquazu Falls.

  • Morning Noel & Danny

Time to start spending yesturdays winnings already.

    York

    2.00 Great Barrier Reef

Im with you Noel on this one for the same fact that Aidan would not put this in first time out in Group class if he didnt think it could win, and the fact that Henrythenavigator beat Swiss Franc at Ascot must give a good indication of where he stands with this newcomer.

    2.35 Wing Collar E/W

I think Danny`s choice Scriptwriter is the one they have to beat but my Eachway selection i was impressed with when it won at York last time out in a Listed Handicap on Heavy/Soft Ground over the same Distance as today. Tim Easterby has a fairly decent strike rate at present 15 in the frame from 64 runners in the last 14 days 5 of them winners, so i fancy this to run into a place atleast.

    Best of Luck

  • Well then close but not close enough. I was fortunate enough that when Great Barrier Reef drifted out to 9/1 i couldnt resist and i had a touch Eachway and then again at 10/1 so coverd myself there.

Wing Collard however is well named because i just got collared for 4th and unfortunately finished in 5th i had this at 16/1 eachway so gutted there, although i thought it ran a good race and maybe if it didnt get bumped on its way through the pack it may of got the place, but cant complain had a good run for my money with that one.

Noel you got me into profit as i write this, i backed Ruby World at Hamilton, one which i think you gave in your form preview on Sportslive.
