Danny saves us again..

Four selections for Thursday. Danny has gone for Plum Pudding in the 2.35 at Newmarket. Richard Hannon's charge has been taking on better company and has dropped down to a tempting mark. His second choice is Tax Free in the 4.20 race. This is an old favourite of Dan's, a top class sprinter that should have too many guns for these rivals. I like the look of the Michael Jarvis newcomer First Avenue in the 3.10 race. Owned by Michael Tabor, this is a superbly bred horse and will know his job first time up. My second choice is Idarah in the 3.55 at Ayr. We are taking fitness on trust, but he is well in on the pick of last season's form.

  • I think it is time to write a long boring post to clarify this matter. Thank-you to everybody that has defended me, but really there is nothing to defend! On Monday I kept the same selections as the blog and formguides. I wouldn't change the selections on the blog anyway as people who read it early would then be miffed if I changed a losing choice to a winner. Once the blog is done, it is done (apart from Ged noticing my spelling mistakes or wrong race times!) It is up to the readers to assess the selections and make their own mind up, particulary if the going has changed dramatically. Once more just to confirm this is not a tipping service, it is just Danny and Noel's fancies for the day. But the decision to take the advice is the reader's. We have done okay and are always pleased to hear that people have won from our selections. We have some long losing runs, and the one thing about the blog that has pleased me is that no one has ever complained. Which proves that most people know exactly what we are about.

  • Exactly Noel this blog is just a voice of opinion, and opinions can change at any time and like you say this is not a tipping service. I have bets myself early doors at the bookies, but then when i get home and watch the racing, sometimes i get on the phone in the afternoon and back another horse in the race if things like the going changes or the draw comes into effect etc..

Keep up the good work Gents.

    Regards Jonesy

  • I fully agree Noel, yours is a friendly and honest help to those who get a kick out of backing horses - I couldn't live without it nowadays! I didn't mean to be anti-democratic in my criticism of the complainers - I meant just like Ged and yourself that people who follow you and understand what you're at have no grounds for complaining at all!
