Two out of two for the little fella and he has another couple on Friday to beat the bookies. His first is White Deer in the 2.55 at Chester. Mark Johnston's charge was just pipped in a hot race at Goodwwod last Sunday and makes a quick return to the track. He also likes the well bred Godolphin newcomer in the 3.15 at Sandown Emmrooz. I have also gone for a debutante, Sir Michael's Perfect Stride in the 3.50 at Sandown. There are good reports from Newmarket for this superbly bred colt. Finally I give a bit of a chance to Enodoc in the 3.25 at Chester. This one has taken on better opposition and on breeding should be suited by the step up in trip.

A bit of a poor run....
But we will try give it a good go on Thursday. We have four selections at Musselburgh, the first is Methaaly in the 2.40. Danny reckons this one was very unlucky not to win at Chester last week and he can make amends today. His second choice is Lady Bower in the 3.10. This one showed plenty of promise on her debut and doesn't have too much to beat. Two Mark Brisbourne runners for me first of all Beck in the 4.40. This is a very weak event and the favourite could be a none stayer. English Archer in the 5.10 is in great form at present and again he has little to beat.

Hitting the bar again on Tuesday....
Three selections on Wednesday, the first is Danny's choice in the 2.30 at Ayr. He goes for the Mark Johnston newcomer Pearl Trader. The stable's juveniles are going well at present and this one is superbly bred, well eneterd up and cost a pretty penny. In the 3.40 at Kempston we both reckon the well bred Conduit could be another winner for the in form Sir Michael. In the 3.50 at Catterick Messiah Garvey is the one for me. This one was very progressive last year and should go close if fit from his break.

Some strange results on Monday...
Should have had two winners on Monday but Philip Robinson stole the last at Warwick. That's racing as Will would say. So on to Tuesday and Danny and I actually agree on three selections at Ripon. The first has got to be Prince Noel in the 2.30 race. This one drops to selling company following some decent efforts in handicaps and goes for this race instead of a stronger contest on Monday. The second choice is Emerald Wilderness in the 3.30. Ed Dunlop's charge ran second in what appeared to be a better race at Pontefract last time out and still looks on a decent mark. Finally we have Fol Hollow in the 3.00. This one makes a quick return to the track having gone well at York last week.
Plenty of racing to go at today.....
No joy on Sunday and no excuses. So we must do better this afternoon. In the feature event at Ripon the 3.35 Danny is keen on the chance of Soopacal. Bryan Smart's youngster took a while to get the hang of the all-weather surface last time out, but made up a lot of late ground. back on the turf he could bounce back to winning form. In the 4.00 at Lingfield an old favourite of Danny's Viking Spirit is selected. A poor run in the Stewards Cup, but solid claims on his previous victory. In the 3.05 at Chepstow I like the look of Bencoolen. Roger Charlton's juveniles are flying and this one should step up on a promising Ascot debut. Last but not least Hawridge King in the 6.00 at Warwick. He won well at Haydock on his return to the flat and a four pound rise shouldn't stop him going in again.

Late again.....
Just a quick update today as short of time. Danny's two for today are Hunting Tower in the 2.10 at goodwood and Furbeseta in the 2.45. A couple for me as well Postsprofit in the 4.05 at Yarmouth and Jedburgh in the 4.30 at Goodwood. Must do form pointers now for Tuesday.

A classy card at Goodwwod.
Some big names in action today including Blue Ksar in the Celebration Mile at 3.10. Godolphin's charge can make the most of the 3 pounds he gets from Cesare. That was Danny's first choice and he also likes Hellvelyn in the 3.00 at Beverley. Bryan Smart's stable star ran well in the July Cup and should strip fitter this afternoon. Just one selection for me on a tough day Miss Sure Bond in the 5.10 at Beverley. This one ran well from a poor draw last time out and looks on very good mark in a weak race.

Not such a good York...
Two selections for Danny on Friday. His first is the well bred newcomer Kal Borg in the 2.00 at Thirsk. This doesn't look a strong race and the stable is in cracking form. His second schoice is Lady Sandicliffe in the 2.30 Thirsk. Barry Hills has had a great York meeting and this one should be capable of winning in this lowly grade. I am also picking one of Barry's, Prince Desire in the 3.15 at Newmarket. This one has shown promise in three runs to date and could have got in here lightly. a similar race at Newbury the 1.20 can go to Party In The Park. Richard Hannon's charge has taken on some top horses and hasn't been disgraced. a mark of 77 looks very lenient.

So close on Wednesday....
We are hoping for better luck on Thursday. I have two selections, first of all the very well regarded Visit in the 2.05 at York. Michael Stoute is taking the same route with this filly as he has with some top performers from the past. She was very impressive when winning at Ascot and has bags of scope. My second choice is Sir Xaar in the 2.05. Bryan Smart gave a good word for this on Sportslive and he is well treated on his best form. Danny likes Magnus in the 3.10 race. This Aussie raider has strong claims on his Kings Stand form. His final choice is Race Forever in the 3.50. This one has been placed in some top handicaps and may be good enough to land a listed race

It could be a GREAT day on Wednesday....
My two selections are at York. The first is in the 1.30, Sir Michael's Great Hawk. This one has to carry top-weight but I reckon there is plenty more to come and he is on the verge of group class. My Second choice is Aidan O'Brien's Great Barrier Reef in the 2.00. The fact that Ballydoyle debut this one in a group race suggests it is high up the pecking order in the juvenile department. Danny's first choice is Scriptwriter in the 2.35. A very impressive winner last time and the ground should now be in his favour. In the 4.25 he goes for the well bred Godolphin newcomer Iquazu Falls.

The Ebor meeting is here...
A cracking card at York on Tuesday and my best bet of the week goes in the 3.50, Tajdeef. This one blew away his rivals on his debut without breaking sweat and he can land this before taking on even better company. Danny reckons Lucarno is a good thing in the 2.35. This one has done little wrong in top company since landing a double and he can return to winning ways this afternoon. Over at Brighton an old favourite Peppermint Green is Danny's choice in the 4.40. If Cumani's charge can repeat his best run of last year he should beat this poor bunch. We are split in the 5.00 at York and so it could be a bit of dutching here with half a stake each on Danny's choice Hoh Hoh Hoh and my Buchaill Dona.
Sorry for the late blog...
Computer and parking problems today so a little bit late. Danny has two selections for monday, the first is Alfathaa in the 2.30 at Leicester. Richard Hill's mount is superbly bred and the stable's juveniles are going well. His second choice is Swift Princess in the 3.30. This one continues to improve and has the in form "Frank" on board. Just one for me Alecia in the 4.00. This one was highly tried last season and has been given plenty of time to mature by Andrew Balding.

It was a wonderful Saturday.....
That headline was for Ian Brindle. It wasn't too bad, at least we had one winner. Not much time as usual on a Sunday morning so two quick selections from Danny. First of all an old favouroite Fragrancy in the 4.10 at Pontefract. The Jarvis-Robinson team are in great form and this race looks easier than Fragrancy's Goodwood race. The superbly bred Colourful Score in the 4.40 is Danny's second choice. I will try and come up with something later this morning.
Just one selection for myself; Basaata in the 4.30 at Bath. Marcus Tregoning's filly is only rated 99, which gives her a bit to find with a few of these. However on her last run at Goodwood she split two horses rated 113 and 114 and so if you take that at face value she should be clear top-rated.

A disastrous Friday....
But we will try and make amends on Saturday. Danny likes Young Pretender in the 1.55 at Newmarket. John Gosden's youngster is superbly bred and could be the value against the favourite. Partners In Jazz is one we both like in the 3.55 at Newbury. Ryan Moore is an interesting booking for the Barron horse and following an excellent run at Newmarket last time he could be back to his best. In the big race at Ripon the 3.45 Danny reckons Grantley Adams would be up to winning this on his best form.

No luck on Thursday....
Moving on to Friday. Danny likes the look of the Michael Stoute newcomer in the 2.00 at Doncaster, Quotation. She is very nicely bred and recieved a good word from the gallop watchers. Danny also likes Slate in the 3.05 race. Vicky Haigh's runner ran too badly to be true last time out and had looked very progressive before that blip. I am sticking with a stable in form and going for Sugar Mint in the 2.30 race. The Barry Hills trained filly is superbly bred and holds some top entries including the Fillies Mile. My second choice is the Dandy Nichols trained Varadouro in the 3.40. This one ran a very promising race on his British debut and looks certain to improve. As an afterthought I will add Rigat in the 5.05 at Newcastle. He is 8 pounds lower than his recent excellent run over course and distance.

Danny does it again.....
I hope you have been following Danny's tips, he is putting the "experts" from Sportslive to shame. He is hoping to continue the winning ways with three selections on Thursday. His first is Phai Mai Blue in the 2.00 at Salisbury. This one has straong claims ona very promising debut run over course and distance. His second choice is Al Azy the 2.50 at Sandown. John Dunlop's colt was slowly away on his debut and should improve for the run. His third choice is Excessive in the 5.20. An impressive maiden winner that wasn't disgraced in a better handicap last time out. Just one for me Trimlestown in the 3.25. Henry Candy's charge is certainly on a winning mark and looked on the way back to form last time out.

The rain causes problems...
The ground may have gone against Tuesday's selections but we should do better on Wednesday. Danny has a couple of selections, his first is Padlocked in the 3.30 at Salisbury. This one has changed stables following three excellent efforts and the drop back to a mile should suit. His second choice is Milne Graden in the 4.40 at Beverley. Jeremy Noseda's maiden is well related and cost a fair few bob. He will not have to be too special to win this. I'm also selecting a Noseda runner, Shevchenko in the 7.05 at Sandown. There is still improvement to come from this dual winner and a hat-trick looks on the cards. The final choice is Fervent Prince in the 2.30 at Salisbury. We both fancy this one as a good each-way chance. He is well related, well entered up and should improve having run very green in two races to date.
A generous price puts us in profit...
9/2 was a very good price for Coeur Courageux and lets see if we can find some value today. Danny has just one selection Rehearsed in the 6.45 at Nottingham. Hughie Morrison's charge was beaten by a very progressive type last time out and still looks on a decent handicap mark. Just one for me as well Masta Plasta in the 7.45 at Nottingham. I have picked this in the past because it it so well treated in handicaps. He appears up against it on the ratings tonight, but to me it is the value against the favourite.

Danny strikes again.....
Well done to young Danny with another big priced winner on Sunday. He fancies two on Monday the first is Aggravation in the 6.45 at Windsor. This looks the best of the two Elsworth runners having been successful on similar ground here in June off a slightly higher mark. He has also gone for the enigmatic Jane Of Arc in the 7.25 at Thirsk. I have picked this one twice on the blog already and if she comes back to her best form of last season she would win this be a street. I am also going for a past selection Coeur Courageux in the 4.00 at Wolverhampton. This one looks a typical Dandy runner that has now dropped to a very tempting mark and will pop up sooner rather than later.

A little bit late today...
A long shift yesterday and so not too much time to study. Danny has though come up with his best selection of the day, Miss Lucifer in the 4.20 at Leicester. She seems to be improving with each run and this looks easier than her last race at Goodwood when a close up fourth. Dan also likes Idealy from the same stable in the 3.50. He is another one that is going the right way and a current rating of 79 is quite fair. I will have a look through the racing and try and come up with something later this morning.
A couple of short priced selections for me; Contentious in the 4.30 at Wolverhampton has improved since going handicapping and can land the hat-trick. Littledodayno in the 2.40 at Redcar is my second choice. This one was well supported last time out and is on a very low mark.

Each-way shot saves us...
Cap St Jean scraped in for third on Friday for a small profit and we have four selections for Saturday. I am on the radio tomorrow night and so I have taken a good look at Ayr and have come up with two selections. The first is Chivola in the 5.50. This one was quietly fancied on his debut but was very green. He should improve for the experience and doesn't look to have a lot to beat. In the 6.20 I like Lake Chini who hasn't been running too badly and is well suited by the race conditions. Danny's main choice is Dansili Dancer in the 3.10 at Haydock. This one has steadily dropped down the handicap and hasn't been running too badly in better company. Finally Danny goes for Gone Fast in the 3.25 at Newmarket. James Fanshawe's charge couldn't have won more easily last time out and there should be plenty more to come.

No luck on Thursday.....
Moving on to Friday. Three selections including an each-way shot for me Cape St Jean in 8.35 at Haydock. The forecast price of 25/1 is much too high especially as the the stable is in such hot form. This one has gone well off similar marks and a place at least looks on the cards. Danny fancies Palm Court in the 6.45 at Newmarket. He selected this one last time out when winning despite a troubled run. In the afternoon Danny has gone for Dig Gold in the 3.15 at Lingfield. this looks a very weak maiden and the extra trip looks ideal.

We needed those......
A couple of nice winners on Wednesday and we have three more selections on Thursday. In the 3.40 at Haydock Danny likes the look of Hunting Tower. This one was a game winner last time out despite trouble in running. In the 3.30 at Brighton Dan goes for Malaath who is by Green Desert and so should improve for the faster ground. No Worries Yet is my choice for the day in the 7.30 at Bath. She comes here in top form and is weighted to confirm recent form with her main rivals.

Poor start to the week...
My one selection on Wednesday is Kasumi in the 4.00 at Brighton. This one takes a step down in grade having finished runner up in a class three handicap at Goodwood. Danny has three choices starting in the 3.00 with Moon Valley who's two best runs have been on fast ground. In the 4.10 at Pontefract he likes the look of Ajaan. This one was unlucky when well supported last time out and still looks on a decent mark. Finally he goes for Ducal Pip Squeak in the 5.40. He has weakened a couple of furlongs out over a mile recently so should be suited by the drop to six furlongs.

I shouldn't have had a holiday...
Nothing much has gone right for me since I came back, but we know we will hit the winners sooner or later. On Tuesday we have three selections. Danny has one choice, Geezers Colours in the 3.00 at Catterick. Karl Burke's runner didn't do too badly on his debut in a race that is working out well. I have chosen two Michael Dodds runners the first is Zhitomer in the 4.30. This is a very well handicapped horse and didn't do too badly last time out. Charles Parnell is in top form at present and won with a little bit in hand last time, he can land the hat-trick in the 5.00 at Catterick.

Mixed fortunes on Sunday...
A couple of winners to keep us going and we have four selections on Monday, all at Ripon. The first is Unilateral in the 2.20. Bryan Smart's youngsters continue in good form and this one showed improved form last time out when beating a subsequent winner. Desert Commander is Danny's choice in the 3.20. Kevin Ryan's charge hasn't been disgraced on soft ground recently and will prefer this faster surface. Fly So Free is my tentative choice in the 2.50. This one is thrown in here on course form last year. Finally Danny reckons Ridge Rose is a good thing in the 4.20. This one showed improved form last time out and the stable is in cracking form.

A bit more time....
No rushing with Sunday's selections. The first is Hold The Gold in the 2.00 at Chester. This one was very green on his debut having been very well supported, we expect a much improved run today. The second selection for me runs in the 4.40 at Chester, Hughie Morrison's Sularno. This one has been dropped five pounds following a poor run last time but has strong claims on previous form. In the 3.15 at Newbury Gothenburg looks a good thing to defy top-weight. He won with plenty in hand and the form has been boosted.
A couple of late selections from Danny; Mutabayen in the 1.40 at Newbury. An impressive winner first time out and comes here following a decent run in a Group two at Newmarket. His other runner is the Barry Hills trained Rhaam in the 3.05 at Chester. This one is progressive and doesn't look badly treated for handicap debut.

I can't do anything right at present...
So I'm letting Danny do the bulk today. He has three selections, the first is Dragon Dancer in the 2.15. This is the best maiden in training having finished second in last year's Derby. Ground and trip ideal and abig run is expected. His second choice is Majestic Roi in the 2.50. Mick Channon's charge is back over the right trip on perfect ground having beaten the brilliant Indian Ink earlier in the season. Dan's third runner is Third Set in the 3.30. A very impressive winner last time out and is open to more improvement. Just one selection for me, Drawnfromthepast in the 4.05. This one is very well regarded and his Ascot victory has been well franked.

Another terrible day in Sussex...
We can try and get some money back on Thursday with three selections. My first is Brisk Breeze in the 2.15 race. Henry Cecil's charge ran a blinder in the Lancashire Oaks and is open to further improvement over this trip. My second runner is Tawaasol in the 2.50. Stoutey can get one ready first time out and this one has strong claims on the pick of last season's fast ground form. Geordieland is Danny's choice in the 3.25. Jamie Osborne's runner was runner up in this last season and has been in excellent form all this term.
