No luck in the National

A good result for the bookies in the big race and we couldn't get a horse in the places. However Danny did point out Levera at Lingfield. Poor racing today but we do like the look of a couple of horses. Danny is keen on Palomar in the Kelso 2.30. A decent perfomer on the flat he was well backed for his hurdles debut. He was very novicey and will improve a great deal. Young Mr Bridges also likes the look of Felinious in the last at Market Rasen. This expensive purchase showed plenty of promise on his debut in a much better contest and once again we should see improvement.
Just one each-way selection for myself, Veverka in the 4.10 at Worcester. Her recent form is nothing special but she always goes well at this track and doesn't look badly treated up against some modest opponents.
So three selections for Sunday;
Palomar 2.30 Kelso
Felinious 5.20 Market Rasen
Veverka 4.10 Worcester

Grand National and Thursday's Selections

It's Grand National week and looking ahead to the big race we can put forward our three against then field.
Firstly last year's winner Numbersixvalverde has been brought along nicely and is reported in great form by his trainer Martin Brassil.
Our second selection is Longshanks. I spoke to trainer Kim Bailey earlier this week and this lightly raced gelding has responded well to treatment after injuring his foot and so long as the ground isn't too fast he is expected to go close.
Finally Point Barrow, the big gamble of the race, has to be a danger to all. He will not mind any ground gets the trip and everybody in Ireland appears to have backed it.
To recap;
Numbersixvalverde
Longshanks
Point Barrow.

As for Thursday's racing.
Having studied the Leicester card I have come up with a couple of decent priced selections;
In the 2.45 race Pat Will has an excellent each-way chance on past performances and the stable have won this race in the past.
The conditions race at 3.20 may go to He's A Humbug. This one goes well fresh is from a stable in form and is dropped in class.
My young sidekick Danny is confident of a good run from Turpin Green in the 2.35 at Aintree.
Once again three for Thursday;
Pat Will 2.45 Leicester
He's A Humbug 3.20 Leicester
Turpin Green 2.35 Aintree
Good Luck with whatever you are backing.
