Let's try and do better today. Danny has a couple, the first Pont des Soupirs in the 2.30 at Windsor. The Godolphin runner is very nicely bred and doesn't look to have too much to beat. His second choice is Plane Painter in the 2.40 at Bath. This one has always looked like an out and out stayer and should be suited by the extra trip. In the 4.30 at Windsor the Stoute newcomer Seasider looks the best option. He is nicely bred and only appears to have Fabreze to beat.
Late as usual on a Sunday....
The last day of this record month and we are hoping for more success. Danny likes the look of Rampallion in the 3.10 race at Ascot. The Godolphin runner did well enough on his return, despite the ground being too fast. The conditions today are ideal and he should go close. Dan also likes Balthazaars Gift in the 4.20. His run in the Sprint Cup is easily the best form on show and he does have a course and distance success on easy ground. I also like a Cumani runner, River Tiber in the 4.55. He didn't stay at York last time and is better judged on his previous run when fourth in a hot race at Goodwood. My second selection is Lizard Island in the 4.30 at The Curragh. Fallon's mount was an excellent fourth in the best juvenile race of the season and a reproduction of that effort should be good enough today.

Let's finish this month on a high..
Great racing at Ascot today and we have three selections from the Berkshire track. First of all Frankie will not here of defeat for Ramonti in the 4.20 and Danny agrees. He doesn't have too much to find with Darjina and has shown a liking for this course in the past. Danny also likes the look of Bicoastal in the 2.00. This is a classy filly and has taken on some decent company this season. This is her easiest task to date. In the 4.55 I have gone for Rahiyah. Jeremy Noseda's filly is best in on official ratings and there is no reason why she shouldn't confirm recent form with her main rivals. Over at Haydock I think Oldjoesaid could go well in the 3.35. He missed the break last time out but his second to Lipocco back in May has worked out well.

Another nice couple of winners...
This is turning into a very profitable month, let's see if we can continue the good form. At Haydock in the 2.10 I like the look of Dharori. This one was a very expensive purchase, is well entered up and comes from a stable with a good first time out strike rate. In the 2.35 at Ascot Danny has chosen Genki. Roger Charlton's charge is a model of consistency and could be up against rivals who are now in the handicapper's grip. Dan's second runner is the 3.10 at Ascot Spell Caster. This one has always been well regarded and the form of her debut victory has worked out well.

A bit behind this morning so....
A quick update. Danny has plumped for Jazz Jam as his first selection in the 2.50 at Ponty. Paul Cole has two runners and this one doesn't look badly treated following some promising maiden efforts. His second choice is Valley Of The Moon in the 3.20. This one has been thereabouts all season and deserves a victory. We both like Many Volumes in the 3.50. This is a classy type and the recent form was boosted yesterday. Red Current is the final choice for me in the 4.50. There was so much to like about his recent win having been outpaced mid-race before fighting back.

A good day had by all...
Now let's see what we can do on Wednesday. Dan has a couple at Goodwood the first is Illustrious Blue in 4.05. This one looks to be improving and loves this track. His second choice is another progressive type in Ezdiyaad. Marcus Tregoning's runner won well last time out and the form is working out well. The first selection for myself is Funny Me in the 2.40 at Goodwood. This one chased home a highly regarded Stoute runner last time and this doesn't look the strongest of races. My second is also an obvious choice in the 8.50 at Kempton Magic Show. Jane Chapple-Hyam's charge is improving all the time and should land the hat-trick.
Just a little statistic upate; The technical genius Toby reckoned we should let you know how we stand after giving 500 selections.
We have had 121 winning choices (almost a 25% strike rate) for a profit of 5.05pts. Thanx to everyone who visits the site because if we didn't get many readers it wouldn't be the same.

No joy on Monday...
But three fancies for Tuesday. Danny has plumped for Philharmonic in the 3.00 at Beverley. This one has not had the best of luck in some big handicaps and this smaller field should suit. His second choice is Fervent Prince in the 2.10 at Brighton. We have picked this one before but he has taken a while to get the hang of this game. However he ran well last time and can gain his first success today. I am siding with For Life in the 5.10 race. This one is progressing at rate of knots and could be just a steering job for the lovely Natalia.

Just ticking over...
But at least we stopped the long losing run. On Monday we have three selections. Danny has gone for Strike Up The Band in the 2.40 at Hamilton. This one is well suited by the race conditions and has his ground this afternoon. We have two at Kempton the first is He's A Humbug in the 4.20 at Kempton. Kevin Ryan's charge won off a four pound higher mark in the spring and looked on the way back to form last time out. Both Danny and I like the look of Celt in the 2.20 race. Luca Cumani had a similar winner last week and this one showed plenty of promise on debut and is certain to improve.
Many thanx to Ged and Michael..
And to everybody else who joined in the sportslive show last night, it made the evening much more fun. Anyway on to Sunday and a couple for me. The first is Kingsholm in the 3.10 at Hamilton. This one is well in on official ratings and looked on the way back to form last time out. My second choice is Nezami in the 3.40. The form of Bryan Meehan's charge has been given a decent boost and he doesn't look badly treated on his handicap debut. Danny has just one for today Cha Cha Cha in the Hamilton 2.10. This one ran well in two handicaps following a winning debut and is obviously a horse that goes well when fresh.

A winner at last..
More to come today, we hope. Dannys first choice is Dark Angel in the 3.25 at Newbury. He reckons this one can regain the winning thread in this slightly easier event. His second choice is King's Event in the 5.05 at Newmarket. The form of his victory has been boosted and he looks on the upgrade. I have already backed Pipedreamer for the Cambridgeshire and so I will have to stick with him for the 3.10 at Newbury. He has progressed all season and could be still ahead of the handicapper. Confidential Lady is my second choice in the 4.40 at ayr. She is the class act here and will love the softer ground.
Thursday, September 20, 2007
Oh dear it is getting worse...
We will bounce back though and we will try to start on Friday when danny has a couple of selections. His first is in the 4.40 at Ayr Out After Dark. This one has some solid handicap form and has his ground today. His second choice is Salford Mill in the 2.45 at Newbury. if this one returns to his Derby form he would be hard to beat. In the 3.20 at Newbury Askar Tau is the one I like. The stable have a good record in this event and this son of Montjue has some top entries. Centenial in the 3.55 at Newbury is my second choice. John Gosden's charge won with plenty of authority last time out and should take this step up in class in his stride.

Is this the start of a bad run?
We hope not, but I suppose we were due one. Anyway we have four selections for Thursday Mushtaaq in the 2.10 at Yarmouth is Danny's first choice. The Michael Jarvis runner showed plenty of promise on his debut and should improve. His second choice is Dan Dare in the 4.20 at Ayr. This one ran well in what looked a stronger race at Sandown last time out. In the 3.00 at pontefract I like the look of Richard Fahey's Resounding Beauty. This one showed plenty of ability first time up despite running green, improvement should be on the way. The second one for me is Daring Affair in the 3.50 at Ayr. This one is best in on official ratings and looked on the way back to form last time out.
No luck on Tuesday...
Four selections for Wednesday. The first for Danny is Reunite in the Yarmouth 4.30. the Godolphin horses are flying at present and this one takes a step down in class having gone well in a Group three. Dan's second choice is Patkai in the Sandown 4.40. Stoute has his juveniles in good form and this one boasts a top class pedigree. I'm staying at the Berkshire course for my two choices. The first is an each-way poke in the 2.20, Advertisement. This one has strong claims on early season form and just needs to settle better. The second selection is Give Me A Break in the 5.15. This one beat a 78 rated horse last time out with the third well beaten off, today's mark looks very lenient.

An early update for Tuesday..
Typing between dog races and the first selection for Tuesday is in the 3.40 at Yarmouth, Persian Fox. This one was rated 70 last season when winning over the mile trip here. Looked to be on the way back to form last time and should be capable of winning in this grade. Philanthropy is my second choice in the Thirsk 3.30. Kevin Ryan's charge won a better race than this last time out and there could be more to come. And there will be more from Danny later. Danny likes the well bred Stoutey newcomer Adversity in the 3.50 at Lingfield and Governor Eliott in the 2.30 at Thirsk. Jamie Spencer rides this one for Mr johnston andimprovement should be forthcoming.
Still no tinternet...
Have to borrow computer again so quick update before work. Danny has gone for Maramba in the 2.10 at Redcar, should improve for promising fist run. He aso lkes Enodoc in the 4.20 at Musselburgh now he is back over the right trip. I have selected Linnet Park in the 2.40 at Redcar. This one looks well in on the pick of his form.

A decent week-end so far..
Let's hope we can keep the winners coming on Sunday. Danny's first choice is in the 3.10 at the Curragh New Approach. This one is rated better than the stable's Teofilo and can confirm his classic potential. Kilworth in the 3.35 at Bath is my first selection. Our Eddie is an interesting booking for this Godolphin runner who was a top two-year-old. My second choice is Piscean in the 4.20 at Goodwood. Ignore this one's last effort as the ground was too soft, back on a fast surface he could prove to be well handicapped. Danny likes the look of Dingaan in the in the 2.35 at Goodwood. Both jockey and trainer are banging in the winners and this one looked on the way back last time out.

A rushed update....
As I have had to borrow a computter because of wonderful AOL. Danny has two from the Barry Hills yard, first of all Tajdeef in the 2.10 at Doncaster. A very impressive debut winner that should improve leaps and bounds. Speaking of an improving type, Danny also lkes the progressive The Illies in the 5.30 race. In The Leger I agree with George and have already backed Lucarno. The Great Voltigeur form is usually a good guide to this classic and John Gosden's charge won that race well. Finally I have a dodgy one in the 5.20 at Warwick, Rigat. I have picked this one before because it is very well handicapped. If he gets out on terms he could go well at a big price.

Back in the black.....
Well I think so, but having trouble updating the table. Anyhoo, a look now at Friday. Dan's first choice is Dansant in the 2.05 at York. Gerard Butler's runner ran well in a hot race last time out and still looks on a winning mark. Danny's second selection is Spirit Of Shajah in the 3.10. Who could be rejuvenated by the move to Chapple-Hyam. In the 3.40 I like the look of Distinction. The trainer stated that this one would need a couple of runs before hitting top form so today could be the day.

A bit frustrating on Wednesday...
Stuck between Buccelati and Dellini, and went for the wrong one. Never mind on to Thursday and the first selection is for Danny, Hi Calypso in the 3.10 at Donny. Stoutey's runner is progressing with each outing and should have no problems with the extra distance. In the 4.55 Dan likes the look of Folly Lodge. The run behind Lovelace stands out as very decent form. My first choice is Jack Dawkins in the 2.05. The Cecil runner has put in three solid efforts against good opposition and looks fairly treated on handicap debut. My second choice is Jack Sullivan in th 3.25 at Sandown. The form of his recent victory was given boost yesterday and there could be more to come.

Many thanks to Will...
The gentleman of Sportslive put me onto Birkside on Tuesday, but we are on our on for Wednesday. Danny is with an old favourite of his Rhaam in the 5.15 at Haydock. This one looked progressive before a flop last time out, he can bounce back today. His second choice is Hogmaneigh in the 4.20 at Doncaster. This is an open affair and Hogmaneigh needs to be held up until the last moment. This looks an ideal opportunity with JP on board. In the sales race at 3.45 Dellini could be the one. After a slow start Mick Channon's charge was very impressive when landing a class two conditions race at Chester and can only improve. My second choice runs in the 4.55, Sir Michael's Red Gala. This one looked a Group horse in the making when winning on his seasonal bow and can defy a big rise in the weights.

I'm fed up of saying this..... Well done Danny....
He has two more for you on Tuesday, the first is Victorian Cape in the 2.50 at Leicester. This one finished close up in what looked a stronger race at Newmarket last time out. His second choice is Kings College Boy in the 4.00 at Beverley. This one should have won last time out but met bad interference, still looks on a good mark. I have a couple from Lingfield, with the help of Sir William Reilly. The first is Birkside in the 2.40 race. He has solid form at this level and could be value against the favourite. Secondly Will and I like Classira in 3.40. Things haven't dropped right for the Jarvis runner recently, but she is on a good mark and the first time headgear should help.

Nice winner again for Danny...
He's keeping us going at the moment and he has two selections for Monday. The first is an old favourite Palm Court in the 2.40 at Bath. Roger Charlton's charge blew it at the start at Newmarket last time and will find this company a lot easier. His second choice is Thinking Positive in the 4.10 race. This one has had plenty of chances but looks to have been found a decent opportunity. I am also going with a past selection, Jane Of Arc in the 5.00 Newcastle. We have said everything about this one already. She is so well handicapped on last year's form and could be on the way back to her best. She should be a double figure price and so we will make her an each-way selection.

Saved by Danny again....
And the wee fella has two selections at York on sunday. His first is Choose Your Moment in the 2.20. He has to shoulder top-weight here, but ran in a decent race at Ripon last time out and this doesn't look the strongest of contests. Danny's second choice is Lipoccco in the 3.55. Ralph Becket's charge was just touched off in a similar race at Ascot last time and there could be more to come. Miss Saafend Plaza in the 2.10 at Fontwell is my only choice on a tough day. This one looked certain to improve on her debut run and should reverse form with Tension point.
Some great racing...
As usual good, but difficult racing on Saturday. I have a couple of selections from the card at Haydock. My first is Olympian Odyssey in the 2.35. The Godolphin runner went well in a Group three last time out and will find this company a little less taxing. The second choice is Sakhees Secret in the 3.10. No surprise here as we also selected him to win the July Cup . In the first at Haydock Danny likes Judd Street, who has won recently over course and distance and has his ground again today. Dansili Dancer is an each-way poke for Danny in the 3.40. THis one wasn't disgraced last time out when a shade unlucky in running.

Just the one winner on Thursday....
Odds on as well, but never mind, on to Friday. Another short priced favourite for me(going against Millard system again) Slam in the 1.50 at Newbury. The form for this one is obvious having finished fifth in a hot race. The entries suggest this is one of the top Hills' juveniles. In the 2.00 at HAYDOCK (just for Mike and Ged) No Page could be another winner for Barry. This one showed plenty of promise on her debut and was pulled out of a tougher looking race earlier this week. Danny likes a couple at Kermpton tonight first of all Little Firecracker in the 6.20. Cumani's runner was very impressive on his Thirsk debut, despite running green in the early stages. His second choice is Island Vista in the 7.50. the Jarvis newcomer is superbly bred and runs in the famous Helena Springfield colours. As an afterthought I must throw in Fervent Prince in the 2.20 at Newbury. He is steadily getting the hang of things and the form of his most recent run has been given a decent boost.

Mixed fortunes again on Wednesday.
Two selections for me at Warwick on Thursday. the first is Everymanforhimself in the 2.50 race. James Given's charge has dropped down to a winning mark and looked on the way back to form last time out. My second choice is Hawridge King in the 4.20. This one should have won last time out and will be suited by the longer trip. Haven't heard from Danny as yet, so will update again in the morning with his runners.
Danny's late selections; A couple for the lad on Thursday. His first is Miss Lucifer in the 3.40 at Salisbury. You can't take the Lovelace form literally, but she is consistent and should be good enough to win a race of this type. he goes for the Godolphin newcomer in the 4.00 at Redcar, Arqaam. They look to have found an easy opening for this son of Machiavellian.

A small pofit on Tuesday...
Danny and I agree with the first selection on Tuesday, Sanbuch in the 3.05 at York. Cumani's colt is progressing nicely and is bred to get this mile and a half. Danny's second choice in Glencal in the 3.45 at lingfield. Hughie Morrison's charge won with plenty in hand at Chepstow and can defy a penalty. I am going against Danny in the 2.30 at york. He likes Deira Dubai but I reckon Giant Love can take the honours here having shown plenty of promise on his debut.
Quickest ever update...
No time at all so just the three selections. danny has gone for French Opera in the 3.10 at Goodwood. We both like Tawaassol in the 3.45. I also like the look of Mount Hermon in the 5.40 at Lingfield.
Sunday, September 02, 2007
I am so sorry.....
An odds on chance.... I didn't expect it to be that price, and would not have picked it. For it to get beaten is unforgivable. No such prices on Monday, Danny fancies Ruby Light in the 4.30 at Wolverhampton. Sir Michael's runner wasn't beaten too far in a race that is working out well. Dan's second choice is Doctor Scott in the 4.50 Hamilton. Mark Johnston's colt has dropped down to a decent mark and should appreciate the drop in trip. I quite like the look of Leading Edge in the 2.10 at Lingfield. His recent nursery run at Warwick looks solid form in the context of this contest.

An early update for Sunday..
Rather than rush in the morning I have decided to send the blog at the end of a busy dog shift. Danny has computer problems so we will have to wait until the morning for any selections from him. I have two short priced runners from Folkestone. Lady Deauville looks a good thing in the 2.00 having run well in a Group race last time out. The second choice is Dona Alba in the 3.00 race. John Dunlop's youngster showed plenty of promise on her debut in a better race and looks sure to improve.
A very late selection from Danny; Typical of a teenager stays in bed until one o'clock. Never mind he has come up with one choice Hart Of Gold in the 3.00 Folkestone. This one should appreciate the drop in class and has very little to beat.

A tricky day for punters...
Sandown is almost impossible today and we turn to Chester for the bulk of our selections. Danny is sweet on the chances of John Terry in the 2.50. This track should suit this front runner and he should go well under Mr Holland from a perfect draw. His second choice is Ice Planet in the 3.50 at Ripon. The Nicholls' trained six-year-old ran well from a poor draw last time and can reverse running with Malcheek. Back to the Roodeye and Imperial Mint in thje 4.00 is my first choice. Ryan's charge ran a blinder in the Gimcrack and this looks easier. Crystal Rock in the 4.35 looks a good thing as he was still green last time out but still ran a gallant second in a competitive Windsor maiden.
